One source indicates that a study conducted on rats that ate food mixed with dates showed improved memory and learning abilities, and reduced anxiety-related behaviors, compared to those who did not eat dates.

Dates contain antioxidants that fight free radicals and reduce oxidative stress associated with Alzheimer’s disease and other chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
